Honor Guard Training 101 is a 40 hour
course, taught in one consecutive week, and designed to put
current or potential honor guard members at the top of
their game. Developed with the combined input from law
enforcement, fire, and military services, this course in
taught in a strict, well organized, and easy to learn setting.
Besides
the traditional drill and
ceremony procedures used for years by the military,
students are also trained in profession specific duties
such as line of duty funeral procedures and parade
etiquette. With the majority of class time spent executing
maneuvers in a hands-on setting, students are given the
opportunity to work one-on-one with instructors in order
to perfect their skills. All students will have
the opportunity to display their accuracy and excellence
as they participate in mock funeral ceremonies, maneuver
a standard competition course, and pass in review on the final day.
Other
course exercises include: basic and advanced marching,
color guard protocol and execution, rifle and parade
tool manual of arms, and much more.
Whether you have been an honor guard
member for years or inspirer to start a unit at your
department, Honor Guard Training 101 is the key to
your success.
